Headwaters Protectors services encampments every Sunday. We believe everyone deserves basic access to water, health, and sanitation. We  offer essential mutual aid resources to our volunteers and community members in order to serve the unhoused encampments, like training in harm reduction, trash collection, needles, and sharps containment, providing  water services, offering live-action exercises in emergency shelter planning, along with social justice advocacy like acknowledging and honoring indigenous people. The group has trained over 600 volunteers in the two years.

The group also distributes health equity supplies such as sunscreen, menstrual products, condoms, reusable water bottles, drug testing strips, NARCAN, and safe needs disposal boxes we receive through partnership with  Denver’s Harm Reduction Action Center, a public health agency working to reduce harms associated with drug use.
